Summary

A Spanish ICT cluster is looking for partners to join a proposal to the call H2020 INNOSUP-01-2018-2020 Cluster facilitated projects for new industrial value chains. The project aims to obtain and manage funds to finance small innovation projects focused to develop or introduce new ICT products or services within the whole value chain of wine sector. The partners sought are other clusters in the wine and ICT sectors willing to collaborate in innovation activities.

Description

A Spanish ICT cluster is preparing a project proposal to the next call H2020 INNOSUP-01-2018-2020, Cluster facilitated projects for new industrial value chains. The cluster is looking for partners interested in becoming partners in this project proposal from the ICT and wine sectors.



BACKGROUND

The wine sector is evolving in an increasingly competitive international scenario characterized by the irruption of new producing countries with innovative strategies in production and trade, allowing them to occupy growing participations in the global wine market.



Although the weight of the tradition is very remarkable for the EU wine sector, it is no less true that this important sector has started an unstoppable revolution with the implantation of new technologies.



ICTs have the potential to reinforce the EU wine sector across its entire value chain, and SMEs have a lot to contribute to that challenge. Currently, they find it difficult to turn their innovative products into market solutions with high penetration in the wine production sector. Thus, SMEs must reinvent their businesses and organizational models and raise their research intensity to remain competitive and be able to expand their activities into international markets.



THE PROJECT

The project will contribute to develop new cross-sectoral industrial value chains across the EU, by building upon the innovation potential of SMEs. The aim is to promote SMEs generating, taking up and better capitalising on all forms of knowledge, creativity, craftsmanship and innovation - including for the application of existing cross­cutting or emerging technologies, advanced manufacturing, ICT, eco-innovative and resource- efficient solutions, new business models, service innovation and design. 



Cross-border and cross-sectoral collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship across different regions and value chains will be promoted. The coordination and facilitation will combine different resources, tools and instruments. 



The proposal will: 



- Validate ideas for structured innovation projects driven by ICT and wine SMEs from different countries in collaboration with other innovation actors. 



-Support innovation activities and/or channel a mix of different targeted entrepreneurial and innovation support measures (such as mentoring, coaching, innovation and technical assistance vouchers, etc.) directly to the innovation actors of the validated innovation projects to further support their development, integration and large-scale demonstration in a strategic manner. 



The topic INNOSUP-01-2018-2020 Cluster facilitated projects for new industrial value chains is a two-stage project IA Innovation Action. 



THE PARTNERS

The leading organization of the project is a Spanish ICT cluster in close collaboration with an association of wineries. The targeted partners are other cluster organisations or other SME intermediaries from the wine and ICT sectors to set up collaboration and networking activities for SMEs and create a favourable "open space" for cross-sectoral fertilisation and value chain innovation. These partners will collaborate in innovation activities like the definition of the competitive calls, follow up of the projects, dissemination, etc.

Partners sought are ICT clusters, wine clusters and other SME intermediaries from the wine and ICT sectors. The role of the partners would be to collaborate in the publication of competitive calls for proposals, evaluation of received proposals, follow up and verification of the implementation of the selected projects, dissemination, etc.
