Description

The German SME has developed a novel bridge monitoring technology that generates data on traffic, fatigue, statics and load-bearing capacity of steel and concrete bridge structures. 

Predictive maintenance and risk analysis of the condition data provide a decision-making basis for determining the remaining service life and appropriate measures for maintenance and inspection

The four pillars of bridge monitoring consist of A) traffic counting, B) monitoring, C) global bridge load in combination with D) local axle load monitoring according to DIN 1072, which provides information on vehicle classifications. The company works according to the project management standards of VDI 2038.

The new sensors have the bandwidth and sensitivity to capture all the necessary parameters for the most accurate evaluation in this area. The new technology is sophisticated in real-time monitoring and evaluation with advanced computational methods that combine analytical and statistical techniques with artificial intel-ligence. The monitoring of various parameters and their cross-validation via sophisticated sensor systems improves and replaces (at least partially) the standard procedure for inspection over time. The potential of the system is manifold and not yet exhausted.
