Summary

A Bulgarian research organization working in the field of innovations is developing a proposal for the Danube Programme. Its aim is to provide a set of social and innovative services for a higher level of responsiveness of businesses to Industry 4.0 requirements. Description

Industry 4.0 has become a symbol of digital disruption entirely changing traditional business models. In a turbulent environment like that, the leading role of human resources is not shifted over to artificial intelligence. On the contrary, human capital acquires higher importance as a source of intangible value for companies on the basis of a new set of competencies – from technical know-how and ability to cooperate/interact with machines, to interdisciplinary thinking, problem solving, data processing and analysis, and many more.
From this perspective the existing and required competencies landscape within the involved regions will be investigated and a set of innovative tools for interaction, knowledge exchange and new skills gathering will be developed in order to support businesses in their adaptation to Industry 4.0 requirements. Clusters working in the fields of mechatronics, robotics, automation, IoT, advanced technologies, organizations acting in the area of social entrepreneurship, innovative social services in the context of Industry 4.0 skills gap and others providing services and education to innovative businesses in the Danube region will be included in the consortium.
The proposal will be submitted under the Third call of the Danube Transnational Programme, Specific objective 1.2 Strengthening the capacity of the so-called support organizations (e.g. employment agencies, trade unions, labour market organizations) to provide innovative entrepreneurial training and education of individuals in the framework of the knowledge-based economy; Developing innovative social services able to better meet social needs and to provide services in general interest
