Research & Development Request

URGENT | H2020-SC1-BHC-07-2019 โ€“ Project IMATE: Consortium of research institutes looking for an SME with expertise in the field of gene editing (miRNA,siRNA, CRISPR/Cas-9) and/or cell therapy

Country of Origin: Germany
Reference Number: RDDE20190215001
Publication Date: 15 February 2019

Summary

The aim of the project is to develop and test new tools and technologies that enable modulation of the functional properties of macrophages and T cells to support tissue repair, reduce fibrosis and accelerate integration of engineered tissues while supporting their functionality. For this purpose the German consotium partner looks for a partner (SME) with expertise in gene editing using CRISPR, siRNA delivery and preclinical expertise in cell-based therapies and injectable materials/hydrogels.

Description

The project IMATE will be submitted under the call H2020-SC1-BHC-07-2019 - Regenerative medicine: from new insights to new applications. Central premise of the project is that the pro-healing and regenerative potential of immune cells can be harnessed to promote tissue regeneration/healing and suppress fibrosis.
This will be achieved using a mix of gene editing and cell and growth factor delivery methods with a focus on the use of bio instructive materials.
Besides the German organisation the project consortium as it stands involves several research institutions from all over Europe (France, Germany, UK, Portugal, Spain, Turkey) that are searching for a collaboration with research-driven SMEs that will profit by the knowledge transfer and the generation of exploitable results. The expected demand for this SME is to be involved in the development of gene editing processes โ€“ using technologies like CRISPS/Cas-9 โ€“ and contribute to the goal of a cell therapy model and injectable materials/hydrogels.

Deadline for EOIS: 22 February 2019
Deadline for the call: 16 April 2019

Expertise sought

Specific technical requirements would involve the following:
- gene editing using CRISPR
- miRNA and siRNA delivery
- preclinical expertise in cell-based therapies and injectable materials/hydrogels
