Summary

A French company, who is a world leader in the field of tools for visitors of cultural or sight seeing place, provides applications and hardware equipment for visitors. The team will develop an open platform (front end)  to digitalize cultural knowledge (ontology definition) and to allow small community to have their own digital guide companion. 
They are looking for an SME specialized in web development and content managements systems (CMS) for the front end platform in the H2020 calls.

Description

A French company has already installed visitors tools in more than 2000 sites all over the world and millions of users have or are using the productions and technology.
The project: In order to protect and to allow the actual and future generation to access immaterial heritage, the client need to share the content based on the same format. The objective of the project is to define first a markup language (XML) that will allow each owner of some oral, pictorial, text or sound heritage to organize it and store it in the same way. The project will describe the language itself but also tools that will help people to, create, modify, manage and publish this content. It is not only design for main organizations that manage well their own content but for all the “small” and local content that exist in all the villages, sites, small towns, small museums, etc all over the world.
The result will be a complete chain from data, CMS, website, application generator, application ready to use for tourist and visitors.
The end users will be of two types, official venuse like museums, parks, visitor centers, etc (pro users) and individual, small communities (villages), visitors etc
The project will be done by 4 partners
1) University that will work on the ontology (Data model definition)
2) The partner that will create a web site with a freemium and a premium sections 5the front end)
3) the French commpany that will provide the CMS and the app generator
4) one or several users (not necessary founded) that will use the first results in their own place (museums, cities, parks)

The French company is looking for a partner SME with a good knowledge in web creation who will be able to work with the University or/and end user to create an attractive and efficient front end solution to allow non professionals to create their own "visitor tour".
They are looking for a SME based in northern Europe or Canada.
The work program is Eurostars (Eureka) - H2020 calls
The funding is depending of the national policy
The dead line is 1st of march (but the project is already written for an important part)
The expected project start is June 2018 duration 24 month

Advantages and Innovations

The advantage of the innovation is to offer open and free tools for small institutions to save their cultural oral knowledge and to offer a product (sold to the visitors or to the site that hosts visitors) easily manageable and attractive to offer a better experience during a visit.

The innovation is
- At the data level (Creation of an open data model)
- At the front end site collaborative platform to store and organize content)
- At the application generator that will alow the creation of a professional tour on a smartphone
