A UK company is seeking a final ICT consortium partners for participation within Horizon Europe Cluster 3: Civil Security for Society based upon draft Call Horizon -CL3-2021-BM-01-03+, They are developing new paradigm digital re-engineering paradigm border controls enabling genuine Terminal ‘walk-through' capability. They are seeking an organisation experienced in Distributed Ledger Technologies logging and validating high volume data (eg.identity verification) via research cooperation.

Description

Many of the planets' airports, seaports and land borders i.e. those processing more than 40m travellers prior to Covid-19, likely to face rapid traveller growth 2022 / 2023 and beyond, now have real opportunities to initiate new operational standards and traveller experiences through introduction of digital paradigms and unique developments that will deliver significant uplift in security, productivity and deliver OPex economics. Whilst, mitigating physical expansionist development needs even as growth trends upward. Inherent at Borders: terminals in particular, there are increasing constraints on finding additional, suitable locations, adjacent to runway, seaport infrastructure, offering infrastructure for increased traveller handling.

The act of processing increasing numbers of passengers - outbound, inbound and transit - requires new, fast and unique and detailed development of integrated and co-operational activity to deliver operational outcomes that genuinely enable majority of airline customers to walk-through from kerb-side to seat. This is attained through key digital development enabling a process is a walk-through – no-touch experience, at a constant process speed.

The UK company is seeking an organisation experienced in Distributed Ledger Technologies logging and validating high volume data (eg. identity verification capability etc) within EU Schengen Border Control organisations, to complete their consortium, via research cooperation agreement.

Deadline for EOIs in this profile: 7 June 2021
Deadline for the call: The deadlines have not yet been announced - the call is expected to open at the end of May 2021.

Advantages and Innovations

Research includes scalability and iterative testing from early proof of concept through to real world testing in conjunction with selected hub airport(s) and operational stakeholders and a demographic spread of ‘passengers'.

A UK researcher and innovation organisation have developed conceptually a new, operationally feasible process to achieve this, based upon an existing and viable concept and enabled through detailed development of disruptive and other developing technologies e.g. Blockchain DLT (digital ledger technology) and AI.

The system is also adaptable in meeting the challenges that require appropriate solutions across a mix of secure process activities. And vitally, for all operational stakeholders and equipment vendors, embrace this activity working with concepts and technological expertise, taking ownership as matters reach testing and delivery.
