Summary

A German plant manufacturer with international experience in constructing plants for bulk material handling has developed an innovative modular system. The system enables clients to choose only relevant plant components. Further, due to its own technical centre, the SME is able to transfer expertise, and find the optimal solution for its clients. The company is looking for partners in the industrial sector for a manufacturing agreement.

Description

A plant constructing enterprise located in Germany with more than 100 years of experience is specialised in manufacturing plants for handling bulk material. The company developed a modularized construction system. According to performance characteristics and technical requirements, the SME is able to plan, design, manufacture and deliver the plant components. A service team assembles the components at the place of destination, including the final commissioning. The portfolio includes:

- Pneumatic conveyance: The conveying systems are able to transport every kind of bulk martials. Conveyor distances over one km and conveying rates more than 100 tons/hour are available. Four different options of loading or feed-in exist: Rotary valve, pressure vessel, jet conveyor or screw conveyors.

- Pneumatic conveyance of pulverized coal: The system allows a general certification on the system-safety and integration into the customer facilities. The system has the possibility for a burner feeding and, depending on the application; the pneumatic conveying is equipped with a metering device upstream. The pulverized coal mass flow is measured by a "Loss in Weight" system, which will be auto calibrated during the operation process.

- Dosing system: The dosing system is available for metering fuels such as pulverised coal, lignite or pet coke into burners. The point of intersection to the dosing system is a drain rotary valve behind the silo. It is possible to construct the system as explosion proof system. The rotary valve feeds the bulk material to a calibration device with a tank. The measurement of the mass flow gives a normative-actual comparison of the conveying capacity. If there will be measured a divergence out of the acceptance level, takes place a characteristic adjustment of the rotation speed at the rotary valve.

Rotary valves: A rotating rotor takes up bulk material under the inlet opening and filling his cells. By the rotational movement the bulk material have been conveyed to the outlet. Due to the gravitational force, the material fall out at the followed plant area. Thus arises a continuous volumetrically conveying. The output depends from the volume of the cells and the rotation speed of the rotor. Gas flows due to difference pressure between inlet and outlet will be minimized due to closely clearance between rotors and housing. This results in a volumetrically continuous conveyance. The conveying capacity defines the contents of the rotary cells and the rotor speed. There are five options available (high temperature rotary valves; wear-resistant rotary valves; high-pressure gate valves, heat able or cooled rotary valves; special designs / special steels).

- Self-cleaning rotary valves: Self-cleaning-rotary-valves are used to discharge bulk materials who are bad fluent, humid, pasty and sticky - with constant volume flow rate or to volumetrically dosing out of containers inn the following plant. Different design sizes for flow rates up to 750 tons/hour are available. It is possible to certify the self-cleaning rotary valves for an explosion surge up to 10 bar. According to the special features of the bulk material, it will be customized to the war protection concept.

- Ceramic rotary valves: Highly wear-resistant lining with ceramic elements reduces the wear to conventional rotary feeders by a multiple. The developed module has lateral inspection openings. By the inspection openings, the wear condition between rotor side disks and housing can be checked in built-in state of the rotary feeder. The wear-protect systems are available in the classes A-F. The ceramic characteristics integrates a Mohs hardness of 8,5 and 9,0 (for comparison: Diamond has the heights known hardness of a naturally occurring mineral with Mohs 10).

The German SME is looking for partners that are interested in a manufacturing agreement for the implementation of particular technological modules described above.

Advantages and Innovations

- Latest state of the art (e.g. ceramic rotary valves with Mohs hardness of 8,5-9,0)
- Very long lifetime without maintenance
- Low energy consumption
- Wear-protect levels A-F
- Special designs for special applications
- Support of customers even during the bidding phase with all necessary details for the explosion protection document
- Standards in the framework of "Guidelines for Explosion Protection and Prevention 94/9/EG (ATEX)"

Requested partner

Type: Partners interested in a cooperation agreement should be companies from the industry sector, which deals with raw materials.

Activity: Relevant companies should be handling with bulk material.

Role: Potential partners inform the German SME about their concrete demand including volume, periods, and expected certification standards. Companies evaluate, if the utilisation of the test centre (see section Additional Comments) is relevant.
