Spanish university research group specialized in performance engineering for telecommunications networks, covering various topics such as ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) traffic characterization, design of protocols for wireless networks networks, sensor networks and nano-molecular networks, is looking for research and technical cooperation in relation to  nanoscale communication between nanomachines for molecular exchange. 

Nanomachine is the general term for a machine ranging in size from one micrometer (one-thousandth of a millimeter) to one nanometer (one-millionth of a millimeter) using MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) technology.

The nanorredes extend the capabilities of nanomachines, both in terms of trading range and sophistication, to facilitate nanomachines can be coordinated, share information or merge.

The paradigms of classic communication should be reviewed for application to nanoscale communication. The two main options are electromagnetic communication and molecular communication. In this case, the molecular communication involves transmission and reception of information through molecules.

The team focus is applying the current communications theory in order to define communication mechanisms based on molecuLar exchange, and is looking for new nanonetwork technologies to apply in their research.
