Description

The Spanish company is a start-up located in Gran Canaria island, specialized in technical solutions to manage and check palm-trees, plants and crops maintenance needs.

The technology is based on digitising information of the plant and consists in a professional app / software with  technical support. The app is designed to collect data from the field and keep updated any intervention in real time. A photo before and after the interventions of the professional can certify that the work is done. The system allows easy access to the information, prepare, manage, analyse and create reports. 

Nowadays, the company has focused on palm trees, a type of plant that requires more maintenance and care. The system has a QR CODE/TAG NFC (near field communications) combined with applications to manage and update all the data related of the palm tree. Each palm tree is geo-located and records the following information: 1. Date of last pruning of the head of the palm tree. 2. Date of last trimming of the trunk. 3. Review of the head of the palm tree (state and date). 4. Review of the trunk of the palm tree (state and date). 5. Last date of phytosanitary treatment. 6. Phytosanitary products used. 7. Name of the pruner. 8. Tools used in the work. Tools used in the work. 9. Symptoms of fungi in the palm tree. 10. State of hydration of the palm tree (type of irrigation). 11. Name of the phytosanitary operator. 12. State of the palm tree. 13. Review of palm leaves (status and date). 14. Registration of pruning transport. 15. Name of the driver and current permit for the transfer of pruning to the landfill. 16. Accreditations of operators. 17. Census number of the palm tree. 18. Location of the palm tree.

The company has also tested the system in almonds and bananas, and there is the possibility of replicating in other types of plants and to obtain the report information detailed before.

The start-up goals are to internationalize and reach other countries, validate the technology and create a framework more solid and scalable. The SME seeks hotels, organisations exploiting parks and gardens or companies managing the maintenance of plants/crops for:

- Commercial agreements with technical assistance, the start-up offers the solution for acquisition and technology transfer.

- Joint venture agreements; the start-up is looking to join partners interested in adapt the technology to other types of plants/crops
