Country of Origin: Spain
Reference Number: TOES20200326001
Publication Date: 26 March 2020

Summary

A Spanish research group is looking for potential partners to apply for European projects focused in neuromuscular disorders, muscle regeneration/stem cells, age-related muscle-wasting disorders, fragility and exercise. The research group has over 20 years of experience in these research fields and in developing R&D funded projects. They offer themselves as partners or subcontractors in related R&D project proposals.

Description

A Spanish research group based in a university has more than 20 years experience in the study of molecular mechanisms of neuromuscular disorders (ALS - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, SBMA - spinal-bulbar muscular atrophy, DMD - Duchenne muscular dystrophy, SMA - spinal muscular atrophy, sarcopenia…).

The group has experience in exosome biology (isolation, marker detection…), primary muscle stem cell isolation and characterization (myofiber isolation, satellite cell harvesting, cell culture, immunofluorescence, flow cytometry…), muscle regeneration analysis in vivo and in vitro, and preclinical testing of biomolecules in animal models (behavioural and motor tests, sample harvesting and analysis, statistical data analysis).

The group is looking for public/private bodies planning to or in the process of preparing a grant application to EU funded programmes, that could be interested in creating a synergy with this expertise to improve the project proposal. The group would be interested in becoming partners or subcontractors.

Advantages and Innovations

Over 20 years of experience in the study of molecular mechanisms of neuromuscular disorders (ALS, SBMA, DMD, SMA, sarcopenia…).
The group has the university resources for developing the research tasks.
The group has experience in the development of R&D funded projects, both national and EU funded.
