Description

This Irish SME has developed an animal warming and drying apparatus, optionally incorporating a radiant energy therapy means on upper & lower diffuser elements each deployable from a folded storage position.  A combined air blower and heating unit draws air from an inlet port, directing the warmed air via upper & lower ports to air outlets in respectively the upper & lower diffusers.  In one arrangement, each diffuser comprises a replaceable diffuser head mounted on a telescopically extendible arm and includes a radiant energy source disposed adjacent the air outlet.  A method of use of the apparatus for drying or warming an animal and/or applying radiant energy therapy thereto is also disclosed.

The developer wishes to license the product to a manufacturer, who has a route to market for products relating  to animal husbandry/rescue/welfare/clinical/physio.

Advantages and Innovations

The device is directed specifically to the care of animals of all sizes, for use privately and commercially. For prevention (prior to entering) of water/sand/dirt damage to transport vehicles, homes or animals bedding. For clinical use, indoors or out, for bone injuries/fusion, for traumatised, hypothermic animals, (or environmental bird oil-slick damage cases), to elevate body temperature in a quiet, gentle manner, (with optional radient infra-red treatment, for therapeutic effect, omitting risk of thermal shock). For new-born winter season animals (possibly premature), to maintain stable body temperature. Advantages are that the device is portable/battery operated for all outdoor activities/animal handlers/emergency med., or mains operated when indoors. Commercially viable for multible dogs requiring fast, comfortable, non-skin contact circulatory air-drying.
