Innovation & Technology Request

Spanish research center is seeking for a research group with experience in small RNA regulation for knowledge exchange

Country of Origin: Spain
Reference Number: TRES20190716002
Publication Date: 16 July 2019

Summary

A biotechnology research group of a Spanish technology centre is seeking for a European research group with experience in studies and regulation of microbial small RNA for knowledge exchange (techniques, tools, personnel) and future collaboration on a Horizon 2020 call under technical or research cooperation agreements.

Description

The organization is a Spanish private non-profit technology centre, founded in 1993, whose main activities are related to molecular biology and microbial biotechnology. The centre keeps close links with industrial research and innovation.
The researchers of the centre have a long experience in molecular microbiology of actinomycete, especially on the regulation of secondary metabolism, and in techniques such as genetic engineering, genomics, transcriptomics, bioinformatics and proteomics. The institute counts with a long experience in European-funded research projects.
The research group has experience on small RNA regulation in actinomycetes, has working with techniques as microbial culture including fermentation, gene cloning and genetic engineering, transcriptional regulation studies, transcriptomic analyses, proteomics and bioinformatics.

The research group is looking other academic research groups with interest or experience on small RNA biology in Escherichia coli or in other bacteria. This area of research is relatively new and the experience and knowledge gained independently would act synergistically in collaboration. A technological collaboration agreement for knowledge transfer is sought. Further research cooperation will be empowered in order to develop new products or ideas for future calls in Horizon 2020 under research collaboration agreements.

Expertise sought

Expertise in molecular biology of bacteria of industrial interest or model species, including techniques for nucleic acids analysis, bioinformatics and genetic engineering.

Requested partner

Academic research groups or biotech companies interested in the study of small RNA regulation (industrial microorganisms, model organisms and other) are sought in order to establish a technical o research collaboration agreement.
It is sought to share techniques, use of bioinformatics programs, genetic engineering tools, and collaborate in specific objectives.
This cooperation may include personnel mobility to exchange expertise and to start a collaboration line to develop future research and collaborative projects.
