The multinational is interested to work with partners to develop more reusable packaging in healthcare. To become an even better partner for their business clients they are looking for developing partners interested in a commercial  agreement with technical assistance.

Description

The multinational has identified that in hospitals, waste management is a large cost and takes up valuable time from staff, which is better spent on attention to patients’ health. Many healthcare appliances are packaged in 2 layers for security and health reasons. 

At this moment the Dutch logistics company is using reusable healthcare packaging in several hospitals.There is a strong demand for more solutions in healthcare, and to expand reusable packaging to other industries like retail e-commerce. In this respect the multinational is encountering a problem in developing a reusable packaging for medical purposes that stays sterile after one uses it. For this reason the company is looking for a cost-effective and durable packaging solution that can be rented out to shipping companies. Upon delivery, the driver can pick up and return the packaging so it can be used again.

The packaging has to be made from circular materials and has to contribute to the company’s goal to reduce its global ground network CO2 emissions 20% by 2020. In this respect the multinational is looking for creative and realistic solutions that show great potential with the opportunity to be applied in a pilot in practice. After successful try-outs, further development could follow.

In this respect the request is part of an open innovation challenge and therefore this Technology Request refers to an innovation challenge published on the internet platform. If an organization expresses interest before closing date, it will be guided towards this open innovation platform. After registration participants can browse free through other submissions and engage in discussions. All submissions will get feedback by the company on this open platform. The challenge closes on May 27th, 2019. Mind that posts on this platform are not confidential. Beside open discussions on the platform, sharing of confidential information will be made possible on demand. After that, the firm will select the SME's with whom they would like to cooperate in the development of a solution. Once the challenge is closed, Expressions of Interest for this technology request will be treated in the traditional way.

For the aimed (afore mentioned) service and product innovations the company would like to cooperate with partners in the frame of a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
