Advantages and Innovations

One such surface enhances bone cell attachment, not just ingrowth, to medical implants. It eliminates fibrolast formation around challenging polymers such as PEEK (polyetheretherketone) and generates true osteoblast attachment to a broad range of materials, whether solid or porous.

Other capabilities are the deposition of antimicrobial surfaces, preventing biofilm formation on a broad range of interbody devices, such as access ports, pacemakers and surgical mesh. The antimicrobial performance can be tuned over time, which can be up to 9 months.
