Description

This Lithuanian company is currently specializing in international trade of frozen and chilled meat and its products. The company wishes to expand their capabilities and is looking for partners that would help them begin manufacturing their own production. 

The company wishes to start manufacturing plant-based (not soy-based) vegan burger patties that are visually similar to, but healthier than their alternatives made out of animal meat. The main similarity should include colour (before and after cooking) and juiciness (fluids released in the process of cooking) to enhance the meat-like cooking experience while maintaining the healthiness of a plant-based vegan meal. The main objective is to produce healthy food that feels like fast food.

The company is interested in acquisition of existing recipes from partners under a license agreement or commercial agreement with technical assistance or finding partners for cooperation creating these recipes and potentially setting up the production unit under a technical cooperation agreement.

Expertise sought

The company wishes to start producing vegan burger patties that exhibit these properties:
- Burger should taste like meat;
- Visual properties - “raw” patty should look like raw meat;
- The cooking process of the patty should be as similar as possible to that of real meat – patty should change its colour and release juices;
- The patty must be vegan;
- Plant-based patty shouldn’t be soy-based and should be considered as health-food;

Requested partner

The partner could be a public or private research institution with a focus on food technology or a food manufacturing company that has a relevant recipe available for acquisition. The role of the partner should be cooperation with our client in an attempt to create the recipe, to offer a license of an existing recipe or to offer an existing recipe and provide technical assistance in order to help our client begin production.
